Right now

there are millions of people who are thinking about tomorrow

at the price of today

Where are they? 

Are they caught thinking back? 

Looking ahead? 

Are they thinking about future plans or how they would do it again?

Maybe if they thought about this moment 

they might have to stand up and speak the names of their fears…

Because if we don’t talk about it

we may never find our way back 

here.

Do you remember what it was like to let go? 

Before they taught us control

Before they taught us to second guess and cope 

Before they stripped away young hopes

Why are we afraid of liberty? 

We embrace it every time we sleep

Then we wake up and forsake our dreams 

by refusing to live past comfortable routines

Me? 

I don’t trust in fatigue

I trust in the responsibility of giving my soul what it needs

And in this moment 

it needs to be free 

 So what does that mean?

If you love someone, love them

If they’re within arms’ reach, hug them

If you respect someone, tell them

you may never get a 2^nd chance to make a lasting impression

And there’s got to be more to life 

than stealing time and getting caught

This moment 

reminds us of what yesterday forgot

of what tomorrow cannot

I’ve seen it with my own eyes

Relationships come and go

some we can’t control

Friends leave

others are in need of what this moment is capable of

They are in momentary need of a temporary love

That’s only found when we overcome the future that blinds you

the past that’s behind you

A lot of what-ifs and can’t-miss turned into regrets

I’m not saying to do all the drugs

have all the sex

break all the rules that you can

We know better than that

But DAMN if we can’t have more fun than we planned

Reach past self imposed limits and try to understand

That these

are our moments

and they are f**king beautiful! 

 … Did you feel that?

That’s your heartbeat agreeing with me

That’s your soul on fire for something we have denied ourselves for far too long

That’s the hair standing on your skin

the adrenaline within

This 

is the moment we’ve waited our whole lives for!

Here’s all you need to know…

Start your day looking forward 

and end it looking back

there’s nothing wrong with that.

But all that time in between 

needs to be seen 

as more than planning or reflecting

It should be less about what you’re expecting

and more about letting go

Taking the minutes and the gifts as they come 

and going with the flow

Being willing to bend 

and not pretend you know what’s coming

because you don’t!

Money doesn’t matter in life

it’s how you live it

It’s not about what you buy 

but how you spend your minutes

Can you take this moment 

and apply it to the next?

Run with the idea until you’ve run out of breath

Dream until you have none left?

With yesterday in the rear view 

and the future in front of you

This moment can be hard 

when we don’t know where we are.

You’d think after millions have past

we’d understand

That moments don’t last

the present is precious

the time goes fast

so where is your mind?

Do you have a short memory 

being handicapped by history 

or maybe frozen in time by a future unrealized?

we watch our hopes fall from the sky
